RSR Updates Facility for a Local Manufacturer

RSR Electric provided services to create two distinct spaces in a larger warehouse facility.

When a prominent local manufacturer contracted with Keystruct Construction to divide a large, fully operational warehouse space into two separate functional areas, RSR was brought on board to provide the electrical and lighting systems for the project. The work included using chain link fencing to separate the warehouse space into two distinct areas, creating a dedicated receiving area, and constructing a new IT room by dividing the existing IT room into two smaller spaces.

The specific scope of work performed by RSR on this project included installation of the following:

  • Raceway power for door strikes

  • Card access rough-ins and power to turnstiles

  • New LED 2x4 lights

  • Emergency exit signage

  • Twenty 20A receptacles for server equipment

  • 120/208, 3-phase, 42-space, 400A panel

  • Raceway for mag locks on single and double doors in the cafeteria

  • Raceway for card access on single and double doors in the cafeteria

  • Raceway and conductors for 3-ton mini split system

  • Power to fire alarm panels

A legacy of trust!

For over 90 years, RSR has been a trusted provider of registered commercial and industrial electrical design, engineering, and installation.

The project required the RSR team to conduct their work within a fully operational and very active facility, without disrupting the customer’s productivity. Additionally, there was heavy forklift traffic throughout the facility, so our staff needed to be aware and vigilant of the forklifts at all times. Since the facility is a multi-shift operation, there was increased foot traffic through the facility during shift changes adding to the complexity of the work site.

Multiple changes to the project while construction was ongoing resulted in the need for the RSR team to maintain flexibility and detailed record keeping to track the project’s progression. Some supply chain issues threatened to impact the completion date, but careful planning and innovative solutions kept the project on schedule. In particular a transformer that was needed to complete the work had a several month lead time. Our team found a rebuilt unit, had it shipped to the site, reviewed the unit’s integrity, and installed it within a few weeks, keeping the schedule intact.

The finished electrical work is part of the customer’s plan to create a more modern and streamlined space for their product. Our collaborative effort with Keystruct working for this customer, allowed RSR to be part of an important project that will impact the economic future of our local community.
