RSR Electric Updating the Chestnut Street Community Center

RSR is updating a facility for this organization that serves multiple community needs.

Founded in 2021, Chestnut Street Community Center (CSCC) in Lebanon, believes there is abundant beauty in community. They provide safe and affordable space for human service organizations and faith-based congregations by partnering with several organizations and community groups. An important part of their mission is the sharing of resources and collaborative efforts between these groups providing spaces for a community garden, a weekly farmer’s market, worship facilities, and educational areas, as well as an overnight shelter.

A legacy of trust!

For over 90 years, RSR has been a trusted provider of registered commercial and industrial electrical design, engineering, and installation.

CSCC is currently updating their Education Building to include an elevator, HVAC, technology, new windows, and lighting. The building will also accommodate a separate space that will function as an emergency shelter, to assist community members facing housing issues. RSR is working on the electrical portion of this renovation project, and the CSCC maintenance team anticipates utilizing RSR as a trusted resource for maintenance of the electrical system at the center after the project is completed.

RSR’s work includes installation of new electrical service, service box, electrical panels, and service refeeds. The lighting systems are also being updated, including lighting controls and new fixtures. Rough-ins will be provided for a security card reader and card access control panel, data communication, and TV locations. The RSR team provided value engineering options for the lighting systems to assist the owner with cost savings for the renovations.

When the project is completed, the CSCC will have updated worship space, education offices and classrooms, and a full-service, 24/7 emergency shelter. These benefits will join the services already in place at CSCC, which include a farmer’s market held every Wednesday, to bring fresh fruits and vegetables to the city residents. The expected completion date for this work is January of 2024.
