No Drawings - No Problem
for H&S Industrial
Solving a customer’s problem leads to relationship with international beverage company.
In March of 2017, a national beverage manufacturer reached out to H&S Industrial to repair five stainless steel portable bins. A square, top portion leads to a funnel-shaped cone on the bottom of each bin. The repair work required plasma-cutting and removal of the bottom cone portion of the bins, fabrication of new cones, and welding the new pieces back on to the bin. This work was challenging because the cones were four-sided with radiused corners. Additionally, the bins were manufactured in Germany and had been in use by the manufacturer for many years, so there were no drawings available to our team.
Because the new cone pieces had multiple corner radii and required an exact fit to the square segment of the bins, the expert team at H&S Industrial worked to create digital exchange format (DXF) patterns for the cones, so they could be cut and formed properly. That precision allowed the pieces to fit perfectly to the top potion of the bins, where the team then welded the cones together and polished the final product before returning them to the customer.

In September of 2018, the customer returned to H&S Industrial to create five completely new bins. Utilizing the DXF patterns and drawings from the previous work, our team was able to fabricate the new bins to the exact specifications needed by the customer. Although an international leader in the coffee industry purchased our customer’s business in December of 2018, due to the high level of quality provided by H&S Industrial on the past projects, when the new owner needed ten new portable bins, they returned to our team.
The finished product is a testament to the skill and expertise of the H&S Industrial team. Even though the initial project was challenging, our team worked together to create a solution for the customer that continues to lead to more work today.
