H&S Industrial provides custom industrial fabrication, process and utility piping, and custom rigging solutions that include removal, installation, assembly, and rebuild services for our industrial and manufacturing customers. Our expert staff is currently fabricating and installing a furnace shell for a local producer of rolled aluminum products.

The furnace floor, wall, and roof panels were fabricated in our Lancaster County facility from heavy plate with many intersecting structural members. These intricate copes and miters were precisely drawn by in-house designers, and with assistance from Nitro Cutting Services were quickly processed using their Trumpf 7000 Fiber Tube Laser. Once fully fit and welded, these massive weldments weighing upwards of 8,000 LBS each were blasted and painted in-house using a proprietary Zinc Based Paint System that can withstand 1000°F operating temperatures. 3D modeling, laser cut profiles, and in-house blast and paint allows H&S to maximize shop throughput, delivering a pre-fit or finished weldments to the job site sooner.

The field staff are currently erecting the furnace panels along with rigging and setting all ancillary equipment for support of the new furnace. These systems include specialized material handling equipment, conveyors, and hydraulic cylinders that automate the furnace’s operation. To fuel the furnace, H&S is installing Combustion Air, Cooling Air, and Exhaust Duct and Piping. Additionally, the H&S team is providing the piping systems for the cooling water, hydraulic and lubrication, Natural Gas, and compressed air. Once completed, H&S staff will begin the commissioning process, aiding the customer and technicians in bringing the furnace up to temperature and start feeding production.
